Eat Less - Okinawan's secret to long life

People from Okinawa Island, Japan are known to have one of the world's longest lifespans and healthiest, many of them live up to more than 100 years old.  One of the Okinawan centenarians' secrets to long life is to eat less - they only eat until they are partially full. What great timing to know this after overindulging during the holidays! Haha...

Okinawans eat fewer calories than what they can burn during the day. They eat only until they are partially full (approximately up to 80% full).

I tried googling for studies on the relationship of eating less and longevity and found several articles which generally present studies on animals where semi-starved animals are healthier and live as much as 50% longer than overweight and fully-fed counterparts.

Thus, if you want to be more healthy, it is suggested to eat 10-20% less than your usual food intake.  This is going to be tough for me. Haha...
