Mama Mary as a baby, child, Mother & Queen

It's September 8 - Mama Mary's birthday. :) There was a Marian exhibit in our church so after the mass, we went around to see various statues of Mama Mary. There were maybe around 40 statues but sharing with you some depictions of Mama Mary which we rarely see.

My favorite is this one - Bambina Maria. The statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a baby. I remember seeing a statue like this for the first time in Don Bosco Makati during a Sept. 8 mass a few years ago. The priest explained that it's a replica of the Bambina in Italy. Apparently, there's a miraculous Bambina Maria statue in Italy which dates back to the 18th century and it's only exposed once a year - during Mama Mary's birthday.

This one's called La Nina Maria - depicting Mama Mary as a little girl.

This one's entitled Nina Maria at Sta. Ana. It's Mama Mary with St. Anne.

I didn't get the title of this but look at baby Jesus sleeping peacefully. :)

This one's so cute. Mama Mary watching over little John the Baptist and little Jesus. It's such a beautiful thought realizing that St. John the Baptist and Jesus were once kids who played like us.

This is a replica of the Virgen de los Remedios, the patroness of Pampanga.

This is the Mother of Good Counsel, the patroness of a major seminary in Pampanga.

This is a depiction of Our Lady of Lourdes. Look at the Lady's eyes. It's one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.

This is called Nuestra Senora de la Consolacion y Correa. I quickly googled what that means - "Consolacion" means "consolation" and "correa" means "belt or strap" in Spanish. The devotion started when St. Monica, in a vision, received a black belt from the Virgin Mary which she gave to his Son, Augustine. His son changed his ways and who eventually became a saint - St. Augustine.
